[Diecast] Monthly Additions: September 2013

School's in, (hopefully) shopping urges decline:

3rd: Zac box pt.2:

Datsun 240Z (zamac), Ferrari F12 Berlinetta (zamac), Mini Cooper (2002 mainline/5SP variation), Nissan 350Z (2006 first editions/blue release), Nitro Doorslammer (2013 HW Showroom/black PR5 variation and red-chrome 5SP variation)

Now I just need that solid red 5SP variation. Morris Minis are also being cut off the list now.

9th: Walmart:

'89 Batmobile, Porsche 918 Spyder

I was done with most mainline that have yet to be released. These were ones I've been on the hunt for. Especially the former. Other than that, I've ditched the AOS plaque for once. The idea seemed cool, but it's lost its integrity as a watermark in that the photos ended up too focused on not cropping the text. The photos when lined up in the index really shows that I've seemed to have forgotten the primary goal of documenting my cars, so I've went back to devoting all the attention on the car and none on the background element. I've been planning to alternate the watermark so that I'm not constrained by composition. I'll still be able to get the studio-lit backdrop, but I'll also have some element that will definitely prove it's not a photo by anyone else.

10th: TheToyPeddler: webb6:

'59 Chevy Impala (1999 TH), '63 Ford T-bird (spectraflame purple/7SP variation), Shelby Cobra 427 S/C (1986 mainline)

10th: eBay: biditwinit09:

'63 Ford T-Bird (spectraflame magenta/5SP variation), '61 Jaguar E-Type Coupe, Nitro Doorslammer (2010 Heat Fleet 5-Pack), Shelby Cobra 427 S/C (spectraflame gold)

Let's get something out of the way. Collecting HW Classics has given me one of the biggest headaches because of all the confusion of naming. Some call it black, some call it dark blue. Some call it pink, some call it magenta. What the hell, guys? Decide on one and stick with it. I almost bought myself a duplicate because of this.

11th: Walmart:

'12 Acura NSX Concept, Porsche 911 GT3 RS

13th: TheToyPeddler: cobravettenut:

Shelby Cobra 427 S/C (1988 Card, 2007 Code Cars/10SP variation, 2009 Colour Shifters)

Stupid fact: This 2009 Colour Shifters is exactly the same as the 2011 Water Revealers. The packaging is different if that matters to you, but if not, but either or, don't bother buying both. Sellers' descriptions are inaccurate because they're too dumb to realize that they turn blue when it comes into contact with very cold water (or any substance), not green, or dark green. Green is just a result of the pigment not fully changing blue, because as you should've learned, green is found between blue and yellow on the colour wheel. So if you're looking to collect Shelby Cobras like me, don't fall for this crap. I almost did today and luckily the seller was so understanding of the situation.

16th: TheToyPeddler: slootie7:

Lotus Concept (2008 "FE" Designer Challenge), '70 Toyota Celica (2013 HW City/OH5 variation), Cool-One (2004 FE/5SP variation), Mazda MX-5 Miata (1994 G-Force Track Set), Triumph TR6 (2012 multi-pack exclusive)

And this marks the end of all Miatas. Thought it would be neat to have 'em all,
but cuts ought to be made if I'm cutting down in general.

19th: eBay: kcs4864:

Fast Fish (2009 Mystery Model), Lambo Countach 25th Anniversary (1999 Mainline)

20th: eBay: vu-fan:

Fast Fish (2009 Connect Cars #42 (Washington))

20th: TheToyPeddler: 1hotwheeler:

Ford RS200 (1987 card), Aston Martin DB4 Zagato (2009 HW Classics Boxed Set), Lambo Miura P400S (2011 Heritage Classics), '59 Chevy Impala (1999 Cop Rods Series, 2002 Cruisin' America Lowriders), '70 Plymouth Road Runner (1998 First Editions/5DOT variation, 2004 General Mills Promo, 2008 Treasure Hunt)

23rd: eBay: stebilly:

Mercedes SLR McLaren (2008 MBX Metal), Nissan GT-R R35 (2008 HW Premiere)

23rd: eBay: wheelcollectors:

'01 Honda Civic Si (2003 Pride Rides), '61 Jaguar E-Type Coupe (2013 MBX 60th Anniversary Commemorative Edition), '12 Ford Explorer (2013 MBX 60th Anniversary Commemorative Edition)

23rd: eBay: whipnet:

Ferrari 599XX (2010 Speed Machines/Black)

Too bad the seller had nothing else to buy. That Global International Shipping Service that gets outsourced on eBay ain't a pretty option. I'm in no hurry to receive my items, it costs more, hobbyist sellers should really drop it.
It might be cost effective for other things; it isn't for toy cars like these.

24th: eBay: 269jeffm:

Fast Fish (2010 Multi-pack Exclusive), Pikes Peak Celica (2012 Multi-pack Exclusive)

24th: eBay: littleladybug:

Austin London Taxi (2013 MBX 60th Anniversary Commemorative Edition), BMW R1200 RTP Police Bike (2013 MBX 60th Anniversary Commemorative Edition)

24th: Amazon: Mik&DanShop:

McLaren F1 GTR (2010 Speed Machines/OH5 variation), Volkswagen Scirocco GT 24 (2010 Speed Machines/White)

Derp seller inaccurately listed his items, didn't even know, and failed to recognize the difference between two different-looking wheels. If I had knew it wasn't CM6 wheels, I wouldn't have bothered. I did something about it though.

25th: eBay: mimaras:

Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 (2010 Speed Machines), Lamborghini Reventon Roadster (2010 Speed Machines)

At long last! I get my hand on the damn Reventon! I don't know why I do, but I enjoy the appeal of the Roadster over the hardtop for reasons I'd like to know.

26th: eBay: hotwheelsofbelle:

Honda S2000 (2012 $uper Treasure Hunt), Lamborghini Gallardo (2011 Holiday Rods)

One day I'll free all my current $upers... that's when I decide to frame it up (and there fore blacklist them form the collection).

30th: Walmart, Toys R Us, Toys Toys Toys:

'70 Chevy Chevelle SS (2013 HW Showroom), Ferrari 250 California (2013 Retro Entertainment/FE), Lambo Aventador J (2013 HW Showroom/FE), Land Rover Defender 110 (2010 Off-Road Adventure 10-Pack), '85 Mazda RX-7 (2013 Treasure Hunt), '68 Toyota Land Cruiser (2010 Off-Road Adventure 10-Pack), Yur So Fast (2013 HW Racing)

Am glad I was able to find these mainlines finally. Same can be said about the 250 California. I took a chance at leaving one at a Walmart near my place and it was gone the day after, so I was thrilled to see it again. Tresure Hunt? Hell yeah, Treasure Hunt. Had no expectation of finding one, but I guess that TRU was decreasing in popularity since they receive so little shipment. I was lucky to have been probably the first to go through it, because I didn't find just one of these guys. Sometimes I love the fact that Toys Toys Toys carries old stock. Otherwise, I'd probably never find the two Matchbox models locally. And even though they overprice their items, I'd rather spend $20 for the 10-pack then to have to pay $15 for just one of them online.
